Save as .AVI

Is there a program out there that saves video files as .AVI files?

Oh, and if anybody knows how to remove Subtitles from a clip, knowing how to do that would be nice too.

any video program will make the video .AVI just most people dont like .AVI formats because their bigger.

Windows Movie Maker will save video as AVI but they end up around 700 - 900MB (which is about right for a HQ AVI File)

also.. is the video with the subtitles your trying to remove a AVI or a WMV...?

because if so then you can't.... their embeded into the video.

If it's from a DVD, then you can remove the subtitles easily. I don't think you can remove subs from a hardsubbed AVI, but from a softsubbed AVI yes. As for any other formats, no.

Saving AVI is easy, but it ends up ridiculously big unless you choose a codec. WMM, sadly, doesn't allow you choose what codec. If you want, you can chose VirtualDub - it lets you to save AVI.
