Video Editing Sofwares (links and stuff)

this topic is for the AMV makers out there to know what editing sofwares they could use, also we offer the links to their official websites so you can read about them and download the trials (if you are interested in them). NO LINKS FOR KEYGENS OR FULL VERSIONS OF THE PROGRAMS WILL BE POSTED (unless they are free usage, like Windows Movie Maker).

As a side note, don't post anymore topics asking for links to the sofwares, since here are all the links you will need. If someone has a link to a sofware that you want to share (please official website) you are allowed to post it HERE.

- Windows Movie Maker (free to use and download)

one of the best editing sofwares for anyone that wants to start editing, is simple to use and you can make a lot of things with it. Is a little limited in the effects department and it tends to freeze if you have codec problems, bugs or just if your PC hates you lol.

- Sony Vegas (30-days trial download. Full version needs to be bought)

a great program, one of my favourites, if you get used to WMM (windows movie maker) you will love this program, great effects and a lot of options to get the best quality, nice transitions setup and a good amount of media generators, a little picky with the codecs though, can't read .mpgs unless you have the codecs, and it tends to give problems with XviD .avis. You can download the 30-day trial from the official Sony website.

- Adobe Premiere (test version available. Full version needs to be bought)

a great program, has much more features than Sony Vegas but its too complex, if you don't have experience editing then I suggest you to not touch this program unless you read the "read me" file. Other than that the program is awesome if we talk about transition, effects and medias at your disposal. You can edit audio there, or at least not as well as in Sony Vegas, also is a little picky with the codecs you use.

- Adobe After Effects (Full version needs to be bought)

ANY effect you have in mind you can make it with this program, grat for post processing works, VERY complex if you don't read a tutorial of this program first. It has some issues when you try to render your final product and is not a recommended program to edit an entire video, more like to edit certain parts only.

- Magix Edit Pro (Full version needs to be bought)

I personally haven't used it, but if you want to know what this program can make then watch "Skittles" by Koop from AMV.org, that way you will know what you can do . Anyway it has good critiqs and is not that expensive.

- Pinnacle Studio (30-days trial for download. Full version needs to be bought)

Personally I don't like this program to edit, is very limitating for a video editing sofware, not too much effects and the transitions are almost the same as WMM, though this program is incredible to record and capture footage from DVDs, video cameras and video games if you have a video capture card .

- Particle Illusions (beta version for download. Full version needs to be bought)

This program has a lot of pre-made effects that are very cool for fantasy vids or vids that needs some real looking effects, like fire, water, dust, etc. The beta version makes a watermark in the renders so its more like a "watch what this can do to buy it". But I will tell you that it looks cool .

I have another program:
-Ulead VideoStudio 11 (Full version needs to be bought, free trial available)
This program is pretty easy to use, it took me about 10 minutes to get used to it. It has features such as splitting videos by scene and you can change the sensitivity settings so that you can influence how many clips are made (I got like 150 clips out of one Bleach episode). The only downside is that unless you are extracting for playback on media formats other than a computer, you must extract the video and audio files separately and then join them with another program (for this I recommend Total Video Converter, which again needs to be bought, as this program allows you to remove audio from videos, and replace the original track with a new one). One last comment, don't buy this if your computer is more than two years old, get one of the older versions as this program needs a lot of power to run properly.
