While every game may have their own rule set I would like to put some specific ground rules that should be applied to all games. Unless specified by the Game Master, these are to be fallowed.

Godmoding
- This is a common Role Playing term that has been known through out the ages. Godmoding is an effect in which the player is going beyond their limits continuously. These acts can include but not limited to, Evading every attack, Landing every hit, never being defeated, ignoring stat values(if said game has them), surviving absolute death situations(a human landing in lava), and so on. Godmoding is an annoying event that will aggravate all players. A warning will be issued by the GM of the game, if the warning is ignored and the godmoding continues the player will be kicked from the game.

Character Control
- Every player has their own character(s) to use. Do not take control of other characters. Unless the creator states "you can use VileMKII to attack/move/flirt in your post" then you keep your hands off them. People put time into their character creation and the creator should be the only one to use them. Posts will be edited to exclude other characters that have been effected by this if it so happens.

Medagaming
- This is a common flaw found in players. It is a really easy rule to break and most the time the GM will let it slide if it's a small event. Medagaming is having your character act or have knowledge of events that he/she would not know. An example would be if the GM makes a post pertaining to the story plot of there being a traitor in the group and reviles them in a single post where no player was around, then they players should not act like they know who the traitor is. Other events are if two characters are talking in room A, and a third character outside the room who didn't hear a thing is able to talk about that conversation. They were not in involved so they should have no idea what it was about or that it occurred.

In and Out
- When posting in the game, please use IN when you are posting in character, and OOC (out of Character) when not. This will make it easier for the other players to identify what you are posting.

Other rules can be specified by the GM in their game thread. Forum rules do apply.

Roleplaying is simple. You creator a character for the game itself and you play them. How do you play? Well, depending on which thread the game is in, you make a post like
"VileMKII walked into the room. The light shone down on his face and it forced him to squint his eyes. The room was white inside and it bothered him for unknown reasons."
Simple right? As you may have noticed, the above sentence was written in past tense. This is the easiest way to roleplay as it makes things simple and easy to read and flow with.

Now, you must be thinking how you make a game, right? Well making a game is simple and difficult depending on how you want to go about it. A story should be thought out, a good opening and a good ending are essential, the middle should contain events that bring it all together, but this part is also the easiest to mold with the players. Once you've established your story and you have a chain of events planned, you can work on your rules. Rules may be whatever you feel they need to be to make your game a success. Do not go against any forum rules when doing this. Once you have your rules you need to make a character template. The template is a bio for your players characters. It is advised that you use the same template for your boss characters. A basic example of a template is as fallows.

Name
Age
Gender
Appearance
Hobbies
Skills
Backstory

While I encourage everyone to put more into a template, it may be however you want it.

Now comes the most frustrating part of the GM. Accepting players characters. You can't just make a character and jump right in, you need approval first. The GM must review your character and decide if they break rules, go against the format of the template, and look for what is known as brokenness. If you decide to deny a character, then let the player know why so that they may fix them to playing standards. As a GM, you will encounter odd characters that you would not expect. You must keep an open mind, as players will either make really unique characters or they will make a character based around what they are currently obsessed with. I have seen players make Team Fortress essentials in a MegaMan game.

Lastly when making a game, it is best to make two threads. One thread should be the games rules, character templates, FAQ's and all other out of character talking. The other should be the game itself, and it should only be the game.

GM
- GM stands for Game Master or Game Maker. The GM is the one in charge of the game. They are the boss.

IC and IN
- In character is what this stands for. It is used to establish when you are in character.

OOC
- Out of Character. This lets players know when you are posting as yourself, not as your character. OOC's are not considered apart of the story but as the players talking among each other.

NPC
- Non Playable Character. Players can run into these, or the GM can make them and use them. These are character that can help move the story, act as bosses, or even just be the friend of your player. NPC's are limitless!

PvP
- Player VS Player. This is when two players face off.

For help and questions, feel free to contact myself through PM or post in this thread. I am here to help.

Nicely written VileMKII. Now since I don't stand the basics of roleplaying on a forum, I might come and join everyone in the games.
