The Rockman Anime Music Video Station

Hey Hey Hey...I brought up the whole "General Music Video" thing....I get no credit ....just kidding guys well....

As I see it we could afford to and work with the change to "General Music Video of The Month" because honestly...Who makes live action videos!? XD. We don't really need to worry about Live Action videos but it would be there in the rules and allowed just incase that one person comes along wanting to enter their video.

Well except for that one person that was here...."Pink Ranger" was it?...
No matter....you guys kinda bent the rules for that person didn't you?

Well a game music video is still a general music video so therefore theres already a contest for it... Since OMEGA entered his Karma of the Heart(KH and KH2) AMV in one of the first General contests :P

It has to do with me banning non-japanese games from the GAMV contest, starting next month (games like KH and any other originally japanese videogame will still be allowed ofcourse).

Personally, I don't feel like having a third contest

So yea, its up to XHunter if there will be one or not

Hey AGF I found out that there is an Armored Core that is still a Japanese game and has not come to America yet, the game is call Armored Core For Answer. Sega was contacted and they said there is no project on bring that game to the states so with this does it help Armored Core or no.

Why ban non-japanese made games?

An interesting point you make at the end, XHunter, but that's not to say that "anime" can't/doesn't have gained a different connotation than merely "animated material" as the original source of the word implies. Much in the same way that the word "gay" doesn't simply mean "happy" or "carefree" in the more modern usage. Words can change meaning over time.

While a lot of groups generally have a hard time defining what anime really is, I'd be inclined to just work from the definition from :

"An anime is an animated, professionally produced, feature film created by a Japanese company for the Japanese market."

Or, if you prefer a lazier definition, if you can find it on AniDB, it's anime.

Well I have to agree with you on the meaning of Anime or what it means now. But I think this is a very touchy issue which we don't need to slide off so easily. I think this is something that we need to think about and discuss before saying no as the final answer because its obvious to me that the forum members want this we just need to figure out who we can change the rules and make sure that everything fits in perfectly or at least, fits in well enough to work.

As the forum grows, our rules need to adapt to the forum users. For example, when the forum first opened up (The new one) we had a lot of people back seat modding and spamming the forum with one word comments. So a rule was made so that 1 - 3 word comments counted as spam. Well as the forum got older and the members changed and matured, we changed that rule to fit the forum. I think that applies to this situation.
